The JA Solar JAM54D-41-460-LR-TS-AB-MC4 is a 460 W N-type TOPCon all-black monofacial double-glass solar panel from the JA Solar DeepBlue 4.0 series. With 23.0% module efficiency, 108 laser-traceable half-cut cells with 16-busbar MBB architecture, a temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C, and double-glass construction (3.2 mm front and rear tempered glass), this panel delivers premium performance in a true all-black format (black frame, black cells, black rear glass). N-type TOPCon technology provides virtually zero LID, superior low-light response, and better temperature performance than standard P-type PERC panels. 1,500 V DC maximum system voltage. Why choose monofacial over bifacial for a UK rooftop?
For pitched roof installations where the rear of the panel faces the roof surface, bifacial rear-side gain is negligible (typically less than 2%). The monofacial double-glass version offers the same front-side performance with full all-black aesthetics. Bifacial panels are most beneficial in ground-mounted systems on light-coloured ground or elevated racking.
What does the "LR" laser traceability mean?
Each individual cell has a unique laser-etched identifier allowing it to be traced through the manufacturing supply chain from wafer to finished module. This supports ethical sourcing, modern slavery compliance, and ESG procurement requirements. It does not affect electrical performance but is a quality and provenance indicator.
How does this panel compare to the JA Solar 470W monofacial (JAM54D-40)?
Both are 54-cell N-type double-glass panels in the same 1,762 x 1,134 x 30 mm format at 22 kg. The 460 W is the all-black monofacial variant (JAM54D-41 series) with opaque black rear glass.
